Privacy Policy
Last updated: October 21, 2026
Daily Decide helps readers make practical everyday choices. This Privacy Policy explains how we handle information when you visit our website, follow a link, or contact us. For privacy questions or requests, email hello@dailydecide.com.
Information you share with us
If you email us or use our contact form, we receive the information you provide. Our form uses WPForms Lite and asks for your name, email address, and message. Form notifications are sent to our public contact mailbox. We use your message to respond, handle corrections and other requests, and keep a record of the conversation. The form includes automated spam protection. Contacting us does not automatically subscribe you to marketing emails. Please do not send passwords, payment details, medical records, or other sensitive information.
Where comments are available, WordPress collects the details you submit with your comment, along with your IP address and browser information to help identify spam. Your name and comment may appear publicly; your email address is not displayed as part of the comment. Avoid including personal information you do not want other readers to see.
Comment avatars use Gravatar. An anonymized string generated from your email address (a hash) may be sent to Gravatar to check for a profile image. After a comment is approved, a linked profile image may be displayed publicly beside it. See Automattic’s Privacy Policy for information about Gravatar.
Requested downloads and optional marketing emails
Daily Decide uses Kit, Inc. to send requested downloads and optional marketing emails. Kit processes your email address and subscription, confirmation and consent records to deliver your request and manage your choices.
Requesting or confirming a checklist download does not sign you up for marketing. Marketing emails require a separate optional opt-in. You can also download the checklist without signing up.
Kit emails use tracking pixels and tracked links to measure opens and clicks, including checklist confirmation emails even when you do not opt into marketing. Kit’s processing is described at https://kit.com/dpa and https://kit.com/privacy.
You can unsubscribe using an email’s unsubscribe link or contact hello@dailydecide.com. The existing retention and security section also applies.
Information collected when you visit
Our hosting, delivery, and security systems process technical information needed to serve and protect the website. This can include your IP address, browser and device information, pages requested, referring page, and the date and time of a request. We use this information to keep the site working, investigate errors, and prevent abuse.
Cookies and similar technologies
Cookies are small files stored by your browser. WordPress and site services may use cookies or similar technologies for functions such as sign-in, security, preferences, or remembering comment details when you choose that option. You can manage or delete cookies in your browser. Blocking some cookies may affect site features.
Affiliate links and third-party websites
Some recommendations may include affiliate links. If you follow one and make a purchase, Daily Decide may earn a commission at no extra cost to you. As an Amazon Associate I earn from qualifying purchases.
Retailers and affiliate networks may use cookies or similar technology to recognize referrals and measure purchases. When you follow an external link, the destination’s privacy policy and terms apply. We do not receive your payment-card details from an affiliate purchase. Read our Affiliate Disclosure for more information.
Google Fonts and external content
We use Google Fonts to display the site’s typography. Your browser connects to Google to request font resources. Google receives technical request information, including your IP address and browser information. See Google’s Privacy Policy for details about its practices.
If a page includes content delivered by another provider, your browser may connect to that provider when the feature loads or you use it. The provider may receive technical information and apply its own cookies or tracking under its privacy policy.
Cookie settings and consent records
Daily Decide uses the self-hosted Real Cookie Banner plugin to remember and document your privacy choices. Essential cookies remember your choice for 183 days. Consent records are stored on our website server for 12 months and include the choice, time, consent identifier, banner and service versions, page URL, viewport size and interactions within the consent interface. Full IP-address logging is disabled, but the plugin retains an IP-derived hash for abuse prevention. It does not record interactions elsewhere on the website for this consent history.
You can use Cookie settings at any time to reject analytics, manage your choice or withdraw consent. A local-only browser-storage record, dd_ga4_choice, supports analytics withdrawal and expiry checks across open tabs without a visitor identifier. Real Cookie Banner opt-in is still required; this record alone cannot allow Analytics. Records become invalid after 183 days and are removed when the site next accesses them. A closed browser cannot run this cleanup. Withdrawal stores a rejection. Refusing analytics does not block access to our content, contact form, downloads or affiliate links.
Optional Google Analytics
If you select Allow analytics, Daily Decide uses Google Analytics, provided by Google LLC, to understand visits and improve our content. The Analytics tag stays off until you agree. We do not use cookieless Analytics pings before consent or after rejection.
After consent, Google receives cookie identifiers, page information, basic browser and device information and approximate location. Google also receives your IP address during the connection. Google may process information in the United States. Advertising personalization and Google signals are disabled. We do not intentionally send contact-form contents, email addresses, user IDs or search terms. Page addresses sent by this configuration omit query strings and fragments.
The first-party Analytics cookies _ga and _ga_Y1GEWMP734 expire after 183 days, without renewing that expiry on each visit. Google Analytics user and event data retention is set to two months, with reset on new activity off. That retention setting does not limit standard aggregated reports.
You can reject analytics or withdraw through Cookie settings. Withdrawal stops future Analytics collection and removes these Analytics cookies; it does not erase information already sent to Google. You may also delete cookies in your browser.
See Google’s Privacy Policy and how Google uses information from sites that use its services.
Future advertising and social features
Advertising tools are not enabled at present. We may add these tools or external features such as videos, playlists, and social-media content. Before enabling a new service that collects visitor information, we will update this policy with its provider, information collected, purposes, and available privacy controls, and arrange any consent or opt-out choices required for that use.
Who may receive information
We use service providers to host and secure the site and deliver email or form messages. They may process information needed to provide those services. Information may also be disclosed when required by law, to address fraud or security incidents, or to protect legal rights. Our site and providers may process information in countries other than where you live.
Retention and security
We keep personal information for as long as reasonably needed to handle your request, operate and secure the site, and meet legal obligations. The appropriate period depends on the type of record and why it is needed. Backups and security records may remain for their normal retention cycles. We use reasonable safeguards, but no internet service can promise complete security.
Your choices and requests
Depending on where you live and which laws apply, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or obtain a copy of personal information, object to or restrict certain processing, withdraw consent, or raise a concern with a privacy authority. Email hello@dailydecide.com to make a request. We may need to verify your identity and may retain information when legally permitted or required. Browser settings control many cookies; any additional controls for newly introduced services will be explained when those services are added.
Children
Daily Decide is a general-audience publication intended for adults making everyday and family decisions. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has sent us personal information, contact us so we can review and remove it as appropriate.
Changes and contact
We will update this page when our practices change and revise the date above. For questions about this policy or how we handle your information, contact hello@dailydecide.com.
